Costa Rica Trip 2009 - Day 3

By IWS on 8:45 PM
The crew woke up this morning to find that the swell had actually dropped some since yesterday - chest to head high with some well over head sets still rolling through. Mike Pechonis seen here dodging an Hermosa hammer fall.

It was smaller than the previous days but clean and lining up nicely. Gary Mozda seen here, cruising through some morning Hermosa glass, making it look easy.

We surfed out front on the outgoing tide until the onshores started and then feasted on our typical, Central American breakfast buffet. Nothing like some good grind after a good morning's surf!

Mid-day the crew rolled down the road and surfed Esterillos Oeste on the incoming tide. It was a little mushy, but there were some fun peaks to be had in both the mid-break and the inside. We returned to the hotel, still waiting for the wind to die down. Once it did, the evening session was on. Turned out to be a pretty fun session - smaller than this morning, but some big sets were still coming through. We surfed out front on the full high tide until sunset, then it was off to town for dinner.

Mike Pechonis capping off the day with a nice little left.

IWS employee Collin Barbour running some fun little Hermosa shorebreak this evening.

With scenery like this, it's easy to see why this place is named "Beautiful Beach."
